Prerequisites for Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Copying the Set-up Files
Copy the desired version of the Microsoft SQL Server to be installed in the C:\Temp folder of the System.

Hard Disk Requirements

The storage requirements for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 are depends on the features that will be selected during the installation.

Software Requirements
Please make sure to install the following software requirement before staring to install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Setup.
  • Microsoft NET Framework 3.5
  • Microsoft NET Framework 4.0
Install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Features, Share components, etc.
  1. Run setup.exe as administrator on systems with Window User Access Control (UAC) enabled.
  2. Click Install => Then, click =>New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation.
  3. Click OK to Setup Support Rules
  4. Choose license version (make sure EVALUATION is not check and that you see a license key)
  5. Accept the license terms
  6. Select Install to Setup Support Files.
  7. Choose Microsoft SQL Server Feature Installation
  8. Choose the following components:
    • Client Tool Connectivity
    • Client Tool Backward Compatibility
    • Client Tools SDK Management Tools-Basic
      • Management Tools - Complete
    • SQL Client Connectivity SDK
  9. Verify the disk space requirement and proceeds => Click Next
  10. Click close when the share feature install completed.

 
Install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Database Engine Services

  1. Run setup.exe as administrator with Window User Access Control (UAC) unable
  2. Click Install => new SQL Server standalone installation or add features to an existing installation
  3. Select OK to Setup Support Rules
  4. Choose license version (make sure EVALUATION is not checked and that you see a license key)
  5. Agree to License Terms
  6. Choose SQL Server Feature Installation
  7. Choose the following components:
    1. Database Engine Services
      1. SQL Server Replication
      2. Full-Text and Semantic Extraction for Search
  8. Choose Default Instance
  9. Verify the disk-space requirement (make sure there is enough space available) and proceeds => click Next
  10. Enter an account and password for each service
  11. Add the SPAXDB\SQL-DBAADMINS group to 'Specify SQL Server administrator.
  12. Edit each directory path to the corresponding drive and directory
  13. Do not send Error Reporting. Leave option (radio button) unchecked
  14. Double check this entries
  15. Click close when the database engine install completed.
