Hardware Requirements
The following table lists the minimum and recommended hardware requirements for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 running in a Full Server configuration. These requirements assume that additional components such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, SharePoint, or Microsoft Exchange Server aren't installed or running on the system

Software Requirement

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Server can be installed only on Window Server 2008 and Window Server 2012 x64 based computers. The following table show the supported version and editions

  Active Directory Requirements

• The following Active Directory requirement must be met before proceeds Microsoft CRM 2013 installation.
• The computer that runs Microsoft CRM Server 2013 roles and the computer that runs Microsoft SQL Server 2012 must be in the same Active Directory domain
• The Active Directory domain where a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 role is located must run in:
• Windows Server 2003 Interim
• Windows Server 2003 Native
• Windows Server 2008 Interim
• Windows Server 2008 Native
• Windows Server 2012 domain modes

Microsoft CRM Server 2013 Installation and Setup.

1. Copy the desired version of the Microsoft CRM Server 2013 to be installed in the C:\CRM2013Server folder of the System.
    
    
   
2. Run Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 Setup.exe by navigating to the directory. It is recommended to do it with 'Run as Administrator'  
   
    
3. Select Get updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM => Click Next
   

   

   
   
4. Click Next
   

   

   
   
5. Enter the Microsoft CRM Server 2013 software license keys
   

   

   
   
6. Click I accept this license agreement, and then click I Accept
   

   

   
   
7. Click Install =>  Then click Next
   

   

   
   
8. Select the Installation location => Click Next
   

   

   
   
9. Select all the Server Role
   

   

   
   
10. Enter the SQL Server 2012 server name "SQL08"
    

    
11. Select the AD Organization Unit => Click Next
    

    
12. Enter the service accounts
    

    
13. Select create a new website and enter port number
    

    
14. Specify or enter E-mail Router Settings
    

    

     

    
    

     
15. Specify the Organization Settings
• In the Display Name => Enter the Organization name
• In the Unique Database Name box, the name is automatically generated or you can type a unique name that must be limited to 30 character.  Spaces and extended character are not allowed.
• Under ISO currency code => Click Browse => Select the ISO currency code that you willuse as the base currency for the organization in the list => Click OK
• In the SQL collation => keep the default selection or select a different database collation that the organization database will use or sort and compare data characters. => Click Next.
  
16. Enter the Report Server URL => http://sql07/ReportServer => Click Next
    
17. Help us Improve the Customer Experience
• On the Help us Improve the Customer Experience page, select whether you want to participate in the Customer experience Improvement Program => Click Next
  
18. Select Microsoft Update Option Page
• Use Microsoft Update when i check for updates (recommanded) =>  Selecting this option, Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 will use the Microsoft update settings on the computer.
• I don't want to use Microsoft update => Selected this option if the computer use another method to install updates such as by using Microsoft Windows Server Update Serives (WSUS)
  
   
19. Ready to Install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Server Setup => Click Next
• Review the Ready to Install Microsoft Dynamics CRM page, and then click Back to correct any warnings.
20. System Checks => Click Next
• This page is a summary of all requirements and recommendation for a successful installtion. Erros must be resolved before the installation can continue. If there are no errors, or only warnings apprear, the installation can continue.
  
21. Ready to Install Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 => Click Install
1. Review the Ready to Install Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2013 page.
22. Once the Microsoft CRM Server 2013 completed.  Bring up the Microsoft CRM Server 2013 site.

Prerequisites for Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Copying the Set-up Files
Copy the desired version of the Microsoft SQL Server to be installed in the C:\Temp folder of the System.

Hard Disk Requirements

The storage requirements for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 are depends on the features that will be selected during the installation.

Analysis Service and data files	345 MB
Client Components	1833 MB
Database Engine and data file, Replication, Full-Text Search, and Data Quality Services	811 MB
Integration Services	591 MB
Master Data Services	243 MB
Reporting Services and Report Manager	304 MB

Software Requirements
Please make sure to install the following software requirement before staring to install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Setup.

• Microsoft NET Framework 3.5
• Microsoft NET Framework 4.0

Install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Features, Share components, etc.

1. Run setup.exe as administrator on systems with Window User Access Control (UAC) enabled.
2. Click Install => Then, click =>New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation.
   
3. Click OK to Setup Support Rules
   
4. Choose license version (make sure EVALUATION is not check and that you see a license key)
   
5. Accept the license terms
   
6. Select Install to Setup Support Files.
   
7. Choose Microsoft SQL Server Feature Installation
8. Choose the following components:
• Client Tool Connectivity
• Client Tool Backward Compatibility
• Client Tools SDK Management Tools-Basic
• Management Tools - Complete
• SQL Client Connectivity SDK
  
9. Verify the disk space requirement and proceeds => Click Next
10. Click close when the share feature install completed.
    

 

Install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Database Engine Services


1. Run setup.exe as administrator with Window User Access Control (UAC) unable
2. Click Install => new SQL Server standalone installation or add features to an existing installation
   
3. Select OK to Setup Support Rules
4. Choose license version (make sure EVALUATION is not checked and that you see a license key)
   
5. Agree to License Terms
6. Choose SQL Server Feature Installation
   
7. Choose the following components:
1. Database Engine Services
1. SQL Server Replication
2. Full-Text and Semantic Extraction for Search
   
8. Choose Default Instance
   
9. Verify the disk-space requirement (make sure there is enough space available) and proceeds => click Next
10. Enter an account and password for each service
    
11. Add the SPAXDB\SQL-DBAADMINS group to 'Specify SQL Server administrator.
    
12. Edit each directory path to the corresponding drive and directory
    
13. Do not send Error Reporting. Leave option (radio button) unchecked
14. Double check this entries
15. Click close when the database engine install completed.

How to add a new Deployment Administrator

1. Open  Deployment manager

2. Click on à New Deployment Administrator
3. Enter a user name from Active Directory (AD) from Domain

4.Click OK

I was involved in installing and configuring Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013.  I was thinking to document the series of post installing of all major components of CRM 2013 - Server 2012, Database, and Dynamics CRM 2013.

The whole installation and setup were complex and it required a deep knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Window Server 2012 Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013.

The Installation, Setup and Preparation can be divided into several components:

• Install, Setup and Configure Window Server 2012
• Install, Setup and Configure Microsoft SQL Server 2012
• Install, Setup and Configure Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 

PART I - Install, Setup and Configure Window Server 2012

There are minimum three virtual server that are running Window Server 2012.  The Window Server 2012 virtual server configuration as follow:

Domain Controller Hardware Configuration:

• Memory 6 GB RAM
• Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2760QM CPU @2.4GHz - Processor 8
• 250 GB Hard Drive C - Drive
• 100 GB Hard Drive D - Drive
• Two Network Cards.
• Microsoft Window Server 2012 Standard (x64)

Microsoft SQL Database Server:

• Memory 6 GB RAM
• Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2760QM CPU @2.4GHz - Processor 8
• 200 GB Hard Drive C - Drive
• 500 GB Hard Drive D - Drive
• 200 GB Hard Drive F - Drive
• Two Network Cards.
• Microsoft Window Server 2012 Standard (x64)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2012  Enterprise (x64)

Microsoft DYNAMICS CRM 2013 Server:

• Memory 6 GB RAM
• Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2760QM CPU @2.4GHz - Processor 8
• 200 GB Hard Drive C - Drive
• 500 GB Hard Drive D - Drive
• Two Network Cards.
• Microsoft Window Server 2012 Standard (x64)
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013

First, I installed Window Server 2012 R2 in VMWare virtual machine. Next, I added and installed ADDS (Active Directory Domain Services) role from the server manager on Window Server 2012, then promoting the server to be a Primary Domain Controller..
Assuming that he/she knows how to setup Domain Controller, OU (Organization Unit), Groups, and Users, etc.
